Strata is a modern LED wall light built in clean horizontal layers: a shape that reads as architecture rather than as a fitting, and lights the wall accordingly. The layers are what break the output into bands rather than leaving one flat panel of brightness, so the fixture keeps some genuine depth to it even when seen straight on from across the room.
The integrated LEDs draw a fraction of the power of a traditional bulb and last long enough that replacement is not something you will ever really think about. What matters more day to day is the quality of the light itself: the output is soft and even rather than sharp, which is what makes it comfortable in a room where somebody is sitting within a metre of it for a whole evening. Efficiency is certainly worth having, but it is the quality of the light that you actually notice every day.
Black gives the layers a firm graphic edge against pale plaster; white lets the whole fitting sink into the wall and leaves only the glow. Mount one in a hallway, a pair spaced along a living room wall, or a single one above a console table in an entryway.
