Nimbus is a round wall light with a solid walnut centre wrapped in a soft, diffused ring of LED: a halo of even glow wrapped around a piece of genuine, solid wood. The wood at the centre is genuinely solid throughout rather than veneered over a substrate, which matters a great deal on a fitting where the centre is the part everybody ends up looking at from close range.
The two materials do opposite jobs and that is exactly the point of the design. Walnut brings natural grain and warmth that no manufactured surface reproduces convincingly, while the matte acrylic ring provides the even diffusion that makes the light appear to come from nowhere in particular.
