Batten is a metal wall sconce shaped like a plain bar fixed to the wall: clean geometry, upward light, and no attempt whatsoever to be anything more than that. It is the least demonstrative fitting in the range, and in the right room that is exactly what is wanted. A light fitting does not have to be interesting in itself in order to be a good one.
