Nova is a battery-operated wall sconce with a remote: a proper bedside light for a wall that was never wired for one. It solves the most common lighting problem in a rented flat, which is that the socket, the bed and the light point are almost never in the same part of the room. There is no compromise involved here and no rewiring to negotiate with anyone.

Mount it with the adhesive backing, or with screws if you want the extra security on a heavier wall, and the installation is finished in a few minutes. The built-in rechargeable battery runs for up to fifteen hours and charges fully in under three, so a single charge lasts well beyond a normal week of evening reading before it needs plugging in again. A rotating magnetic head lets you point the beam where you want it, and the remote dims it and changes its colour without anyone having to get out of bed to do so.

Fitted in a child's room, keep the remote and the charging cable out of reach of small children and supervise younger children using it. Mount a pair either side of a bed so each person has their own light.
