Lumenorth Ash Nordic Wooden Wall Light

Ash is a Nordic wall light with a wooden base, the timber softening what would otherwise be a purely graphic metal fixture. Wood on a wall fitting does something metal cannot: it reads as furniture rather than as hardware, which matters a great deal in a bedroom where everything else in the room is already soft. It is a small change of material with a quite disproportionate effect on how the room reads.

The plug-in version is the practical one. Mount it wherever the light is actually needed and run the cord down to the nearest socket, with no wiring, no electrician and nothing permanent left behind when you move out, which makes it the sensible choice in a rental or a room you have not finished thinking about. The hardwired version connects directly to a wall point for a cord-free finish, and it is the one to choose where you are staying put and the wall already has a feed in roughly the right place.

Black keeps the metalwork graphic against the pale timber; white lets the wood carry the whole fitting on its own. It takes an ordinary E27 lamp, so any bulb you like will fit it, dimmable and smart ones included.
