Lumenorth Torch Gold Wall Sconce

Torch is a modern wall sconce in iron and glass: a small, bracketed light that puts the glow exactly where a ceiling fixture cannot. Every room has a corner the overhead light never reaches properly, and a sconce is usually the cheapest way to fix it. This one takes up almost no wall at all and asks for no rethinking of the room around it.

The lines are clean and the fittings are deliberately spare, which is what keeps a sconce from tipping over into looking ornate and fussy at close range. Gold gives a warm metallic that catches whatever ambient light is in the room and pairs naturally with wood and cream walls. Black is the sharper, more contemporary option, and it holds its outline against a pale surface so the fitting reads as a deliberate mark rather than a lump on the wall. Both sit at a scale that suits a bedroom rather than a hotel corridor.

Mounted beside a bed it gives reading light without a lamp taking up the nightstand. In a hallway or beside a mirror it does the one job a ceiling fitting simply cannot manage from directly overhead, which is to light a face evenly.
