Lumenorth Palette Colourful Wall Sconce

Palette is a colourful modern wall sconce built around a hand-blown glass shade, and it is the one fixture in this range where colour is the point rather than an accent added at the end. Everything else about it is kept deliberately plain so that the glass can carry the whole thing. That is the correct order of priorities for a fitting mounted at eye level.

There are fourteen shade colours and three bases. The single tones run from soft pink and cream through green, red, black and white, which covers both the quiet end and the loud one. The two-tone combinations, including pink and red, cream and green, and green and pink among the rest, layer one colour over another so that the shade shifts depending on where you stand in the room and whether the light is switched on. Pairing any shade with a contrasting base changes the character again, which means the same fixture can be understated in one room and quite bold in another.

Because the glass is blown by hand, the depth of colour varies slightly from piece to piece. Hang a pair either side of a bed, or a single one where a wall needs something to look at.
