Lantern is a glass wall-mounted lamp with the widest colour range in the collection: five shade tones against two back plates, which is ten combinations before you have even decided which room it is going in. Amber gives the warmest, most golden light and is best over a dining table or a sideboard. Grey is cooler and more muted, and sits well in a room with a restrained palette. Clear is the brightest and most versatile of the five, and it shows the bulb, so choose a filament LED to go with it. Green is the unexpected one, and it is quietly striking against a white wall without ever becoming loud about it. Milk white diffuses completely for a soft, glare-free glow, and it is the one to choose at eye level.
Pair any shade with either back plate to shift the character again, warm or cool. Mount a single one in a hallway, or a matched pair either side of a bed or a fireplace where the symmetry does as much work as the light does.
