Flare is a ribbed glass wall light that projects a sunburst across the wall behind it. The fixture itself is small, but the pattern it throws is the actual design, and that is an unusual way round for a light to work. Judged switched off it is a modest thing. Judged switched on, it is comfortably the most striking fitting in the whole range.
The vertical ribbing in the glass refracts the output into a fan of soft rays, so a plain wall becomes a glowing focal point rather than simply a lit surface.
