Lumenorth Ripple Luxury Wall Sconce

Ripple is a luxury wall sconce named for its most distinctive shade: textured glass that breaks light into soft moving bands rather than a flat, uniform wash. It is a small piece of theatre from a fitting that is otherwise perfectly restrained. The effect only appears once the light is switched on, which is a large part of why it works so well in an evening room.

Ripple glass is the modern option of the two. The moulded surface refracts light unevenly, so the wall behind picks up a subtle pattern that shifts as you walk past it, and a plain painted wall suddenly has something happening on it. Milk glass is the classic alternative: fully opaque, completely even, and with no glare at all from any angle, which makes it the better choice next to a mirror or anywhere someone reads. Both are handcrafted, so small variations from piece to piece are part of the character rather than a fault.

The gold and black detailing is kept fine enough that the metalwork never competes with the glass for attention. Mount one beside a bed, a pair flanking a mirror, or a run of them climbing a staircase wall where the shifting pattern is seen from several angles.
