Lumenorth Plane Minimalist Wall Lamp

Plane is a minimalist wall lamp built from flat surfaces and straight edges: a fixture defined mostly by what has been left off it. There is no curve, no taper and no detail anywhere on it that has not clearly earned its place. It is the sort of design that looks easy to arrive at and is not. Removing things is considerably harder than adding them.

The metal frame is simple to the point of being anonymous, and that is entirely deliberate rather than a failure of nerve. A fixture with no decorative signature cannot go out of fashion, which means it will still look right in five years when the rest of the room has changed around it, the walls have been repainted and the furniture has been replaced. It complements existing decor rather than competing with it, which is exactly what you want from something that is mounted permanently onto a wall.

It is hardwired for a clean, cord-free finish, which makes it a fitting for a room you intend to stay in. Mount one above a bedside table, a pair along a hallway, or a run of them up a staircase where consistency matters more than character.
