Lumenorth Dome Flowerpot Pendant Light

Dome is built from two hemispheres facing each other, the flowerpot silhouette that has been a fixture of Danish design since the 1960s, rendered here in powder-coated metal with a smooth matte finish. The proportions are what make the shape work, and they have not needed adjusting in sixty years. It looks equally at home in a period flat and a new-build kitchen. Very few lighting shapes manage that.

The enclosed form pushes light straight down and shields the bulb entirely from view at every normal sitting or standing height. That makes it unusually comfortable to sit under for a whole evening, which is exactly why the shape has kept its place above dining tables and kitchen islands rather than being replaced by something newer and more fashionable. Nobody at the table ever has to move their head to avoid a glare, and the surface below gets an even, generous pool of light.

Seven colours are available, from quiet neutrals to a full saturated statement. Hang one over a round table, or run three in a line above an island, spacing them so that the pools of light just touch one another along the length of the worktop and leave no dark stretch in between.
