The Globes Are The Object

Cluster hangs clear glass globes from a slim frame, and the number of them is yours to choose: one, two, three or four heads on a single fixture. That makes it one of the few pendants that scales to the room rather than forcing the room to accommodate it. Everything runs from one ceiling point, so there is no rewiring and no new holes in the plaster. The frame stays slim enough that the globes read as the object.

A single head is a bedside or hallway light. Two suit a narrow console or a small dining table. Three and four heads spread across a wider span and turn the fixture into the main event over a dining table or in a stairwell, giving several separate pools of light from one connection. The globes are transparent, so the bulb is part of the design rather than something to be hidden, and a warm filament bulb does a great deal of the work here.

Choose bulbs of the same type and colour temperature across all the heads, since mismatched ones show immediately through clear glass. Wipe the globes occasionally with a soft dry cloth, since dust shows on clear glass far sooner than it does on a coloured or frosted shade.

  • Bulbs: visible through the glass, warm filament recommended
  • Note: use matching bulbs across all heads

Frequently Asked Questions

How many heads should I choose?

One suits a bedside or hallway, two a narrow console or small table, and three or four a dining table or island.

Do I need extra wiring?

No. Every head runs from the one existing ceiling point, so there is nothing to rewire and no new holes to make.

Will it feel bulky?

The frame is deliberately slim, so even the four head version reads as a group of globes rather than a heavy fixture.

What kind of bulb suits it?

A warm LED keeps the glow soft through the clear glass. A decorative filament bulb also works well since the globes leave it visible.

Can the heads hang at different heights?

Staggering them is what gives a multi head cluster its depth, and it is the usual way to hang three or four over a table.
