Lumenorth Anchor Bauhaus Pendant Light

Some rooms do not need filling. They need anchoring. Anchor is a contemporary Bauhaus pendant light built on a single idea: remove everything that does not need to be there. What is left is a compact geometric shade in powder-coated metal, doing honest work without asking for any attention in return.

At twenty-one centimetres across, this is a small metal pendant made for the places where proportion matters more than presence. Hang one above a bedside table or a reading chair for focused, intimate light that does not spill across the whole room and wake somebody else. Line three along a kitchen island and the small scale becomes an advantage, because the row stays light on the eye and never blocks the view across the counter. The cord is adjustable, so the drop can be set to the room rather than to whatever the ceiling happened to give you.

It takes a dimmable E26 lamp, which means the same fitting covers both bright task light for the evening meal and a low setting for afterwards. Powder coating also holds its finish considerably better than paint on a shade that gets knocked from time to time by a passing sleeve or a tall guest.
